Their study examines the carbon stocks dynamics of harvested wood products (HWP) and their implications for European forest-based climate mitigation strategies within Northern Europe and the Alpine regions. The study used Panel data and fixed effect Lasso regression, and indicates that HWP are likely end up as carbon sources rather than sinks by 2050.
